It soon tranforms into a ground to spend my time while earning extra income. However, the extra income is mostly channel back into G's pocket for the fun of trying it's various product. Thus i want to write a series of review on products that i had tried or some star products (products that constantly receive good feedback from customer).

Philips Electrical Epilator HP6400

Body hair is one of the girls biggest enemy. Like all girls, I too yearn for a pair of shinny and sexy leg ;)

Like the traditonal epilator, the electrical epilator remove the hair from it's root. If u think I would scream for pain during the whole epilating process with tears constantly run down from my lacrimal sac, then you are wrong. The epilator actually does not cause pain due to it's speed, except for the first epilating session. I would say the first session was an unpleasant experience with tingling sensation and reddest of the skin (red dot all over my leg) throughout the evening which subsided on next morning. Since that, there is no more pain and reddening as the skin get used to the epilating process.

For the best eficacy, u have to hold the epilator 90 degree to ur skin & it is best done when ur skin is oilless (after bath). After epilating, my leg is not totally hairless (on close examination) but the result was quite satisfying to raw eye. However, i found that regrowth of hair is faster than expected. The actual duration? Unknown, as i never mark the date, haha.

The downsides, u cannot use it while waiting bus at bus stop as the gadget needs an electric socket (not battery operated) to operate. U also cannot use it while chatting with ur bf as there is annoying sound emitted from it. But the sound is ok to me, it is just like the sound of electrical mixer.

Body Natur Hair Removal Series

The star product that constantly receive good feedback from customers and the staffs. The hair regrowth rate is said to be most satisfying, 2 months, according to most of them.

However, i had not try any chemical hair removal since uni time as I do not have the gut to allow my skin to drink the chemical cocktail at regular basis. Most of them are claimed to be mild but bear in mind that they are as potent as to break the bond between the hair molecules.
花 花 宇 宙http://www.blogger.com/profile/04603770355783687091noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159474918475304040.post-14518561315322329122010-06-26T09:28:00.000-07:002010-06-26T11:17:21.167-07:00I also bake fruit pastry cake :)I notice something similar in every food blog that i have been following recently. A must have 'fruit pastry cake'. Not to be left out, i also bake my own version of this cake, coupled with a little 'modification' of the recipe..... to stand out from the others sold out there. Initial plan for the decoration was peach, green apple, cherry and grapes. Talk about variety here. Funny..cuz we never use local fruits to bake cakes, rite? But the green apple was given up at last due to the constraint of space.

Well..to cut the story short..(to know the process, just surf any other food blogs) After just mere 15 minutes, minus the time for the butter to melt, I had my own masterpiece ready. Not really up to expectation but satisfaction level was pretty high. Partly due to the speedy process. 15 minutes is just all it takes... faster than a drive to a bakery. haha..

The cake during 'summer' time -steaming hot fresh from oven...

and when the 'winter' comes...it takes a little skill not to cover the peach with icing sugar. Done.

U won't believe the baked grapes actually tasted very nice, although they do not look apealing. Imagine how the grape juices oozing out to the edges (the dark part on the edge as shown at the picture above) that make them taste awesome. Almost all bloggers gave very good comments on this cake, saying it is easy to make and tasted very nice. For me, overall I would give a 2 thumbs up...out of 5. The only downside, or I can say a major one, was the 'tallness'. My version of this cake is just too short. Could it be my 'gene' that had been pass down to my cake?

Nevertheless, mum and dad said they enjoy this pastry on their tea time. Grate 1 teaspoon of orange skin.

2. Squeeze orange juice.

3. Add 1 and 2 to make up orange juice mixture.

4. Bring 5 eggs to room temperature. Separate the egg whites from egg yolks. U have to make sure all the container and ur hand are free from oil and water when u handle the eggs. Place the egg whites into the mixing bowl of ur electric mixer and egg yolks to another mixing bowl.

5. Weight 150g of self-raising floor, then sieve it. Weight also 75g of fine sugar to be added into egg yolk mixture and another 75g of fine sugar to be added into egg white mixture.

6. Beat the egg yolks, add in fine sugar and beat until the mixture turn pale using manual whisk (as shown at picture below). Add in 5 tablespoon of oil (i use corn oil) and orange mixture and whisk for a while. Then sieve in the self-raising flour and whisk in one direction until smooth and well combine.

7. With electric mixer, beat the egg whites with 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar until frothy and foamy with high speed. Then add in the sugar in 2 batches and continue beat using medium speed and then low speed until peak. The peak form when the peak of the whites form straight line and do not drop. If u are not confidence, u can try to turn ur mixing bowl, if ur egg whites do not flow then it is the peak stage. The whole process usually takes me about 7 minutes.

8. Pour egg yolks mixture into egg whites in 3 addition. Each time gently fold the mixture from upside down with a spatula until just blended. Beware not to overmix the mixture as this will break the air hold in bubble of egg whites.

9. Pour the mixture in a dry and oil-free cake pan and bake in preheated oven at 150c for 35 minutes (u have to pre-heat the oven at 150c for 15 minutes before baking the cake). All oven have difference characteristics, therefore the baking temperature and duration is only for reference. U have to monitor the cake while baking but do not open the oven door during the baking process. Sometimes the cake raise too high (always happen to me as my oven is small) until it is really near to the heating element. To avoid the top from getting burned, u can put one sheet of aluminium foil on top of the cake if the situation ever happen. Beware not to open the oven door too long if u want to do this.

10. Ur cake is done if the skewer inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean.

11. Remove the cake from the oven and invert the cake immediately. U can use whatever to support the centre of the chiffon pan, i usually use a cup. Let the cake to cool completely before removing it from cake pan.
花 花 宇 宙http://www.blogger.com/profile/04603770355783687091noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159474918475304040.post-57062230318069087612009-09-25T00:06:00.000-07:002009-09-27T03:06:26.668-07:00Chocolate MuffinThis blog entry is specially dedicated to my recipe illiterate sister in singapore, joelyn, who attempts to impress her little princess (or husband?) by serving her some fresh from oven muffins for her tea time. I can't be more agree that homemake baking goodies do make people feel loved and warm.

After browsing through many muffin recipes, i decided she should try this recipe, a very easy recipe with some basic ingredients. The reliability of this recipe can also be assured as i make it a few times before and it is indeed my first muffin recipe too :)

Joelyn get confused with the basic ingredients and the steps of making a muffin, so here the photo plus some explaination.

Butter

Margarine, commonly used for spreading on bread can also be used but butter yield softer texture and superior in fragrance. In contrast, margarine yield a healthier cake as they contain less animal fat compare to butter.

Self raising flour It can be substituted by adding baking powder to all-purpose flour (the ratio is about 250mg all purpose flour to 1 tablespoon/15g baking powder ).

Cocoa powder

Fresh Milk
Any brand, be it the pasteurised type or UHT fresh milk (but not the formula milk of your little princess, haha). All doctor can prescribe it, after consult with specialist. In clinic without specialist, the doctor claim they consult with specialist with phone call. No one knows if they really do so.

Is this a good way to control the pandemic? Should Malaysia take more drastic measures to contain the flu (like Mexico) or spend more and more money on giving treatment for all suspected case? What else can we do if the viruses gain resistance to Tamiflu (which suppose to be the last resort of H1n1)?

Sadly, there is one decision never been changed by the goverment -to have a big scale national day celebration end of this month.花 花 宇 宙http://www.blogger.com/profile/04603770355783687091noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159474918475304040.post-55877053530971299912009-08-15T18:26:00.001-07:002009-08-15T18:53:46.124-07:00Bread RollAlways wake up early even on weekend, thanks to my imsonia :(
This is the breakfast on saturday morning. Freckles, wrinkles and telengiectasia (enlargement of blood vessel on my face, or spider vein) which re-appear after 2 months of laser (I want my money back!!!) make me very unhappy :(

I decided to try something different. Heard of collagen and it's effectiveness from many friends, so i decided to give it a try.

After much comparisons, i finally bought this

The reasons I buy Meiji Amino Collagen Powder:

1. It have 5000mg of collagen which is our body everyday's need. As compare to Fancl Collagen, capsule form which contains 1500mg in it's daily dosing (6 capsules) and Kinohimitsu J'pan Beauty Drink 2500mg.

2. It is top seller for 3 consecutive years in Japan, as compare to Lotte Collagen, eventhough the later have same amount of active ingredient and is cheaper, but the reputation is not as good as Meiji.

3. The price of 1 month consumption is cheaper than CollagenMAX. CollagenMax is advertised to be taken once every 3 days, in which 1 bottle of it contain 9000mg. My quiry is whether the same amount of collagen will be absorbed everyday (3000mg/day)? Or 9000mg will be absorbed on the day of consumption and no more collagen in our body for the rest of 2 days? And not to mention the reputation and the experience in collagen making (CollagenMax is quite new if not mistaken).

4. Meiji is a very well known and established company with wide variety of products. It also have a share in pharmaceutical and healthcare market (it is a important point to a pharmacist like me,haha). It is now one of the largest producer of antibiotic in the world (see, i have professional knowledge ler). I can't take my time as it get melt. No wonder professional photographer use potato to replace ice-cream when it come to photo taking. I guess i won't have better skill than professional photographer, so i gave up :p. I just use the highest speed to take the photo as well as putting the ice-cream in my mouth.

The ice-cream is so yummy and refreshing. It is wonderful to be taken at these hot days. I will say this is a wholesome ice-cream because it contains yoghurt (which is healthy), with a little bit of sugar (compare to the amount of sugar use in baking), and it use non-daily cream (non-daily cream is healthy right? At least it is healthier than daily cream), and forget about the egg yolks, haha.

Mango Yoghurt Ice-Cream Recipe (adapted from The Kitchen 70's)

Ingredients

A: 300g Mango Yoghurt, 3 egg yolks, 40g sugar

B: 200g non-daily cream

Method

1.
